The Hill: President Trump on Monday announced that he's planning to nominate Justin Muzinich, a Treasury Department aide who was involved in the administration's tax-cut efforts, to be deputy secretary of the department.
If confirmed, Muzinich would fill the No. 2 position at Treasury. The department hasn't had a Senate-confirmed deputy secretary since Trump took office.
Since the start of the administration, Muzinich has served as counselor to Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin. In that role, he has advised Mnuchin on domestic and international policy issues such as Republicans' successful efforts to pass tax legislation.
