The Washington Post: Secretary of Veterans Affairs David Shulkin likens the state of his department to a patient in bad, but improving, health.
“Though we are taking immediate and decisive steps stabilizing the organization,” he said in remarks prepared for delivery at the White House Wednesday, “we are still in critical condition and require intensive care.”
His “State of the VA” speech doesn’t shy away from the many problems still facing the department, even after several initiatives brought improvements.
