GAO: OPM needs political conversion data fix
Federal Times: A report from the Government Accountability Office has found that federal agencies approved political conversions without first seeking approval from the Office of Personnel Management.
The Sept. 30 report found that of the 69 conversions studied — so-called for the process of converting a political appointee to a career position — 17 were approved by federal agencies without first seeking the approval of OPM, which is required to approve any political conversion.
