The Wall Street Journal (online registration required): U.S. solicitors general who served under every president from George H.W. Bush to Barack Obama gave Supreme Court nominee Merrick Garland a bipartisan boost this week in a letter to Senate leaders saying he is “superbly qualified” to be a justice.
“While we have served in different administrations, we are unified in our belief that Judge Garland is superbly qualified to serve on the Supreme Court if he were confirmed,” the letter to Senate leaders said.
