It's game on for the future of America's democracy

USA Today: A Supreme Court nominee. Five major primaries. And a D.C. subway shutdown. It's been a wild 24 hours for Washington. 1. Merrick Garland. He's President Obama's Supreme Court nominee to replace the late Antonin Scalia. Garland almost made it to the Supreme Court six years ago, but he was saved for a time when Obama might need someone palatable to Republicans to replace a conservative justice. A time like now. 2. Primaries. Hillary Clinton won huge in Tuesday’s elections. Bernie Sanders spoke for an hour, but no one watched. Donald Trump won big in three primaries, including Florida, Marco Rubio's home state. Then Rubio dropped out. John Kasich got his first win with his home state of Ohio, and was the happiest dude ever. On Wednesday, Trump told everyone to get on board with his GOP nomination or there could be riots. 3. The #metropocalypse: Officials shuttered the D.C.
