USA Today: WASHINGTON — The federal web-based system used to fill out and submit background investigation forms was shut down Monday for four to six weeks after a vulnerability was detected, the Office of Personnel Management announced.
The problem is not directly linked to the two massive hacks of OPM's employee records that was revealed earlier this month, agency officials said. Instead, it was discovered as part of a comprehensive review of the agency's information technology systems that was ordered by Director Katherine Archuleta in the wake of those attacks.
