Senate vote sets stage for president to get fast-track

Boston Herald: The White House’s free-trade push cleared a significant hurdle yesterday, passing a key procedural vote in the Senate, setting the stage for a final vote to send the bill to the president’s desk.

The Senate voted to advance the bill, which would give President Obama authority to negotiate expedited trade deals, by a 60-37 margin, exactly the number of votes needed.
