White House, GOP spar over budget bill

USA Today: The White House and congressional Republicans are arguing about budget details as a Dec. 11 deadline approaches for a new spending bill that would avert another government shutdown.

President Obama's spokesman, Josh Earnest, told reporters Wednesday that "congressional Republicans are whistling past the political graveyard of a government shutdown" by seeking to add items to a spending bill that would hurt Wall Street, environmental, and health care policies.
