The Washington Post: The Department of Veterans Affairs has fired the director of its Central Alabama health network, marking the first official termination under the agency’s new rules for removing senior executives over ethical and performance issues.
The VA said Friday that it ousted Central Alabama Veterans Health Care System Director James Talton, amid complaints from prominent Republicans who said the agency was not acting quickly enough to discipline officials after VA hospitals throughout the country this year were found to have lied about patient wait times.
