The Washington Post: Two leading Republican members of Congress have asked 17 federal agencies featured in a new report to account for hundreds of employees they have sidelined on paid leave for a year or more.
The study by the Government Accountability Office, disclosed Monday by The Washington Post, found that during a three-year period that ended last fall, more than 57,000 federal employees were sent home on administrative leave for a month or longer. Almost 300 of them were still idled after a year and some for three years.
