The New York Times: WASHINGTON — Seeking to address what critics say is one of the biggest contributors to the ever-rising price of cable television subscriptions, the Federal Communications Commission said on Thursday that it would consider new rules that prevent local broadcasters from working together to negotiate deals with cable companies and advertisers.
F.C.C. officials say the changes are intended to address recent efforts by stations to get around rules that limit the ownership of multiple broadcasters in a single metropolitan market.
