Allegations of widespread overtime abuse at Department of Homeland Security

The Washington Post: About 95 Department of Homeland Security (DHS) employees at facilities in Northern Virginia allegedly increased their pay by 25 percent through overtime abuse, according to the Office of Special Counsel.

In testimony prepared for a Senate federal workforce subcommittee hearing Tuesday, Special Counsel Carolyn N. Lerner said the allegations involving Customs and Border Protection (CBP) staffers, including managers, at the National Targeting Centers in Herndon and Reston, Va., “improperly claim AUO, up to two hours a day, every day.”
