The Washington Post: The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration on Friday lifted a hold on new hires and employee training that the agency implemented last year as a result of the automatic spending cuts known as the sequester.
In a memo to employees, Commerce Department Under Secretary for Oceans and Atmosphere Kathryn Sullivan said the appropriations bill restores some of the funds reduced under the government-wide austerity plan.
