Shutdown Furloughs Would Affect Hundreds of Thousands of Federal Workers
Government Executive: Roughly 800,000 federal civilian employees would be furloughed if the government shuts down on Oct. 1, according to news reports and data from 2011 -- the last time the government nearly shuttered.
