Evanina Pledges to Lead Overhaul of Security Clearance Process at his Confirmation Hearing
Homeland Security Today: William Evanina told the Senate Select Committee that he will lead the overhaul of the ‘outdated and inefficient’ security clearance process if he is confirmed as Director of the National Counter Intelligence Security Center.
Evanina, was nominated in March, and will become the first Senate-confirmed Director of NCSC. In his statement he also said: “Insider threats – sometimes with the encouragement of external actors – are a pernicious intelligence threat to maintaining our secrets and our national security.
