Why Obama won't say 'radical Islamic terrorist'
USA Today: President Obama lamented what he called a "political vote" in Congress to override his veto of a bill that allows the families of 9/11 victims to sue Saudi Arabia during a CNN town hall on Wednesday.
Obama said the vote was based more on lawmakers' fear of being seen as opposing 9/11 families than what is good for the country.
"It's an example of why sometimes you have to do what's hard. And, frankly, I wish Congress here had done what's hard," Obama said, according to CNN. "If you're perceived as voting against 9/11 families right before an election, not surprisingly, that's a hard vote for people to take. But it would have been the right thing to do."
