House hearing to examine use of social media during natural and man-made disasters

Government Security News: The House Homeland Security subcommittee on emergency preparedness, response, and communications will hold a hearing on June 4 at which it will examine the ways in which social media --  such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and others – are being used to communicate alerts and information about major man-made and natural disasters, such as the Boston Marathon bombings, Hurricane Sandy and the Oklahoma tornadoes.
