Governing: It could get easier – a lot easier – for new Arizona residents to start working after they arrive there, if Gov. Doug Ducey gets his way.
Ducey, a second-term Republican who served as the CEO of Cold Stone Creamery before entering politics, is backing a measure in the state legislature that would let new Arizona residents get occupational licenses when they move to the state, as long as they were licensed in the state they came from. The legislation passed the GOP-controlled House, over significant opposition from Democrats, and is now before the Senate.
