New Jersey Governor Appoints State's Second Chief Technology Officer
Government Technology: Nearly five months after the departure of a key technology official who helped guide the state’s IT centralization, New Jersey’s top elected official announced he has appointed a replacement to lead state tech.
Gov. Phil Murphy said in a news release on June 8 that he has appointed Christopher Rein, a longtime public- and private-sector technology official, to lead the New Jersey Office of Information Technology (NJOIT). His duties will include overseeing more than 600 staffers and “developing and implementing strategic policies, information security standards and requirements” for all state departments and agencies.
