StateScoop: A New York City Council member plans to introduce legislation that would make the city’s relatively new cybersecurity bureau a permanent part of the municipal government. Ritche Torres, who represents part of the Bronx, said Monday he wants to create an Office of Cyber Command, codifying an initiative Mayor Bill de Blasio created last year.
Torres told the New York Daily News, which first reported his plans, that he believes that cyberattacks present the “single greatest vulnerability” to the city.
