Government Technology: New Jersey Chief Technology Officer Dave Weinstein is gearing up for a first-of-its-kind event in the state: a conference that will bring together several hundred state application developers. At the NASCIO conference earlier this month in Austin, Texas, Weinstein explained that the event is intended to unify those that do similar jobs, albeit in different agencies.
"New Jersey has a recently decentralized model," he said, "and a lot of this is a recent phenomenon as far as application development." Hosted by the New Jersey Office of Information Technology, the conference will take place on Oct. 30, and its proximity to Halloween isn't lost on event organizers. Costumes are welcome, Weinstein said.
The keynote address will be given by New Jersey Tech Council President and CEO James Barrood, and topics on the agenda include agile dev/ops, cloud and elastic search.
