The Hill: The governors of California and Texas are both waging products from parts of their states recovering from natural disasters in a bet over the upcoming World Series.
California Gov. Jerry Brown (D) and Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) are both offering up products from parts of their home states that have been hit by natural disasters in a bet over the Los Angeles Dodgers and Houston Astros in the World Series.
Parts of California were devastated by wildfires earlier this month. And Texas is continuing to recover from Hurricane Harvey in late August.
If the Dodgers win, Abbott will send Brown a six-pack of beer brewed in Houston and Texas BBQ. But if the Astros win, Brown will send Abbott wine from the Sonoma, Napa and Mendocino regions, which have been affected by the wildfires.
