Pittsburgh Post-Gazette: Ending more than two years of uncertainty, state lawmakers have passed legislation that for the first time grants permanent authority for ride-hailing companies such as Uber, Lyft and Yellow Cab of Pittsburgh’s zTrip to operate in Pennsylvania.
The Pennsylvania Senate voted, 47-1, Monday evening in favor of Senate Bill 984, which for the first time establishes a state regulatory framework governing so-called transportation network companies. The bill now goes to Gov. Tom Wolf, who has been supportive of ride-booking apps.
