Governing: For years, Denver Water, like many other drinking water utilities, would refer its customers concerned about the lead content in their water to state-approved labs that could collect and analyze samples from the homeowners’ faucets. This summer, Denver Water made the process much easier: Now if a resident is concerned, the agency will send out a testing kit, analyze the water in its own labs and report the results back to the customer -- all for free. More than 100 homeowners used the new service in its first month.
