Federal Times: The cloud.gov customizable hosting platform developed by the General Services Administration’s 18F digital services incubator has achieved FedRAMP authorized status.
The completion of this assessment means that federal agencies can use cloud.gov to host and update websites and web applications through a provisional authority to operate at the moderate impact level without having to authenticate all security compliance requirements.
Whether a team is building an agency homepage, open-data application program interfaces, internal information management tool or some other services, cloud.gov offers a way to offload infrastructure management, leaving developers responsible for only 15 out of 320 security controls so they can concentrate on their unique code.
