Politico: The FCC this week approved rules around the Connect America Fund, its $2 billion rural broadband support program. Part of the money goes to the oft-criticized Rural Health Care Program. In the proposed rule, the FCC said it sees the benefits broadband brings to an entire community, “including schools, libraries and rural health care providers.” Chairman Tom Wheeler called the order "third base" for agency efforts to expand connectivity to rural areas.
