OPM is closer to knowing how many people’s security clearance information was caught up in the Chinese hack

The Washington Post: The Office of Personnel Management plans to arrive at an estimate by Friday of the number of people whose highly sensitive security clearance information was in a system breached by Chinese hackers.

As a third congressional hearing on the massive cyberattack gets underway Wednesday morning, computer security experts at the Office of Personnel Management are continuing their painstaking hunt through multiple databases containing the government’s background investigations of active, former and prospective federal employees, contractors and others.
