CIO: IDG News Service (Washington, D.C., Bureau) — Government-funded broadband projects have led to higher speeds and lower prices for U.S. small businesses, despite opposition from some in Congress, according to an auditor's report.
Municipal broadband networks and federal broadband programs from the U.S. Federal Communications Commission, the National Telecommunications and Information Administration and the Rural Utilities Service generally have higher speeds and lower subscription costs than other broadband services, the U.S. Government Accountability Office said in a report released Monday.
