CMS wants to change Part B drug payments

Modern Healthcare: The CMS is proposing new models for Medicare Part B drug payments as a way to curb costs and improve beneficiaries' quality of care.The new structure, which comes out of the Center for Medicare & Medicaid Innovation, would shift doctors towards a value-based care model. Medicare Part B covers drugs that are provided in a doctor's office or a hospital outpatient department.Clinicians would be allowed to prescribe the drugs they deem more useful for treatment.
