Two proposed bills take aim at CMS data transparency, EHR interoperability
Government Health IT: Congressional lawmakers pushed forward two prosed bills to improve healthcare delivery — one to encourage interoperability among EHR systems and the other to promote the transparency of Medicare and Medicaid health data to fuel efficiency and cut costs.
U.S. Senators Tammy Baldwin (D-WI) and John Thune (R-SD) on Monday re-introduced legislation called the Quality Data, Quality Healthcare Act that would provide for greater access to Medicare and Medicaid claims data by modernizing and reforming the Qualified Entity (QE) program, according to a news release from Baldwin and Thune.
