CMS claims meaningful use progress steady as payouts surpass $25B
Government Health IT: After a decidedly slow start, it now appears that attestations and registrations for Stage 2 of meaningful use are starting to gain at least a bit more momentum, though there is still a long way to go.
The latest statistics — hot off the presses and hardly analyzed yet, according to CMS — find 43,898 eligible providers successfully attesting this year for meaningful use by November 1. That number includes the 15,481 new EP participants attesting to the program this year as well as the 11,478 EPs who have now attested to Stage 2.
