DOE wants authority to use SPR sooner in an emergency, Smith says
Oil and Gas Journal: The US Department of Energy will seek authority to act earlier in an emergency release of crude oil from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve as part of a comprehensive review of the 40-year-old system, said Christopher A. Smith, assistant US Energy secretary for fossil energy.
