Advocacy group calls for greater scrutiny of N.J. chemical plants

NorthJersey.com: An advocacy group called for greater scrutiny at New Jersey’s chemical plants Tuesday following President Obama’s executive order last week aimed at improving safety at those facilities.

Standing across the Hackensack River from Kuehne Chemical Co. in Kearny, members of the New Jersey Public Interest Research Group said such facilities should be compelled to use safer chemicals and procedures to minimize the threat to surrounding communities.
