Energy News Network: A move by Maine officials to rewrite terms of an offshore wind deal will delay a long-awaited demonstration project and further hurt the state’s credibility with clean energy developers, according to project advocates.
The Maine Public Utilities Commission this spring voted unanimously to reopen a term sheet for a floating offshore wind pilot project that regulators first approved four years ago. They cited lower energy costs attributed to cheap natural gas and recent technological advancements.
