Renewable Energy World: Amazon today said it has completed another solar installation in its growing portfolio of onsite rooftop solar projects.
The 1.1 MW installation on Amazon’s North Las Vegas fulfillment center in Nevada represents the company’s 17th completed rooftop solar project in the U.S. over the past 14 months. Amazon said it has a goal of installing at least 50 rooftop solar systems at its locations around the world by 2020.
“Projects like Amazon’s solar rooftop installation will help propel Nevada’s economy into the future and solidify our state’s position as the Innovation State,” U.S. Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto said in a statement. “It will also contribute to the state’s leadership in solar energy production and green jobs. Nevada shares Amazon’s commitment to promoting sustainability and championing renewable energy projects that are good for the environment and that create good paying jobs for Nevadans.”
