Today, the burgeoning U.S. offshore wind industry is just getting started with a small project off the coast of Rhode Island. Dong Energy, an experienced offshore wind developer in North-western Europe, in February agreed to take over a lease that could potentially lead to more than 1 GW of offshore wind energy capacity off the Atlantic coast.
