Courier-Journal: The attorneys general of coal-dependent Indiana and Kentucky have joined 21 of their counterparts from other states to call on Congress and the incoming Trump administration to defend fossil fuels and make quick work of vanquishing a cornerstone of President Barack Obama's climate agenda.
They suggested President-elect Donald Trump issue an executive order "on day one" of his administration ordering the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to take no further action to implement its Clean Power Plan on electric utilities. That rule has been temporarily blocked by the U.S. Supreme Court during a legal challenge from many of the same states. The letter also suggests Trump's EPA should move to withdraw the rule, and for Congress to pass legislation to block future, similar regulations.
