Energy awards $35M to protect power grid from cyberattacks

Federal Times: The Department of Energy awarded two research grants totaling $34.7 million to develop cybersecurity tools and standards to protect the nation's electricity infrastructure.

A team of researchers led by the University of Arkansas was awarded $12.2 million, with an additional $3.3 million from program partners. Another grant for $22.5 million was awarded to a group led by the University of Illinois, which will contribute an additional $5.6 million to the effort.
