Fayetteville Observer: RALEIGH - Lawmakers want to move quickly to prepare North Carolina for natural gas exploration.
On Thursday, three Republican senators filed a bill that seeks to make several law changes in anticipation of allowing companies to begin drilling next year. The work would focus initially in Lee, Moore and Chatham counties, where potentially lucrative deposits of gas and other minerals are trapped in layers of shale.
