Energy Security Trust – A Quick Lay of the Land
Energy Policy Information Center: The President’s proposal to establish an Energy Security Trust is viewed as one of the programs highlighted in his State of the Union address most likely to garner bipartisan support. SAFE, which recommended a similar proposal in its National Strategy for Energy Security, agrees. We view the concept as a non-ideological, common-sense way to promote U.S. energy security by using some of the royalties generated from domestic energy production to advance Research & Development of oil-displacement technologies in the transportation sector.
