Campus Technology: Rice University has intoduced a new program geared toward working adults looking to bone up on their data science skills. The 24-week Data Analytics Boot Camp was developed in partnership with workforce acclerator Trilogy Education.
The curriculum covers topics such as programming in Excel, statistics, Python, SQL and MongoDB databased, front-end web visualiation, JavaScript and Tableau. Classes will be held weekday evenings and weekends, with students spending 20 hours a week on "outside projects, homework and experiential learning activites, ranging from visualizing bike sharing data in Houston to mapping worldwide earthquakes in real-time," according to a news announcement.
