Times Union: ALBANY — Seventy percent of school board members statewide support teaching the subject of climate change in public schools, according to a new survey.
But the state School Boards Association warned that what children are currently being taught on the subject might be too dependent on a teacher's own views.
Results of a NYSSBA survey released Thursday show that 16 percent of school board members oppose climate change being taught in public schools, while 14 percent were unsure. Of those who support such teaching or were unsure, 86 percent were in favor of schools teaching that humans contribute to climate change, while 5 percent opposed that viewpoint.
