UT Austin Launches Mobile App for Sports Fans and Students
Campus Technology: Students, campus visitors and sports fans can now access University of Texas course information, event schedules, live game audio and more via a new mobile app.
The University of Texas at Austin developed the app with SportsLabs, a digital sports technology company, to enhance the student experience on campus as well as the fan experience at games, according to a press release. The app provides full coverage of every sports game at every University of Texas school, with live audio, scores and alerts, as well as live social media content from Twitter, Instagram and Facebook. Location-based tech, including geo-fencing and beacons, will enable “targeted engagement on campus, around Austin, and at both home and away Longhorn games.”
