THE Journal: The Deer Park Union Free School District in Babylon, NY, saved $37,000 in six months after it overhauled and streamlined its printing operations.
The district, which has five schools, 4,600 students and 800 staff members, replaced aging copiers and printers with 23 Konica Minolta multifunction printers (MFP) strategically placed around the district, installed Equitrac print management software to more carefully track printing activity and encouraged teachers and staff members to make greater use of the district's in-plant central publication center for higher-volume jobs.
