Houston Chronicle: High school students in HISD can expect a late Christmas gift next year: their own laptops.
Houston Independent School District officials revealed Thursday that they are ready to start the first phase of a multimillion-dollar laptop-for-all program. The district plans to begin with up to 18 high schools, doling out laptops to students in January for use at school and at home. Teachers will get the devices first, in August.
